UPDATE - 4/27@3:42PM: Reader perfektspace let me know that KKRW out of Houston has 7 songs from Snakes & Arrows up on their site that you can listen to in their entirety! Just go to this link. The songs available for listening are Far Cry, Armor and Sword, Workin' Them Angels, The Larger Bowl, Spindrift, Bravest Face and Malignant Narcissism. You may notice that this list includes the 3 songs that were not included in last night's Q107 interview.

There are a lot of band interviews happening over the next week so I thought I'd recap. Earlier this week, reader Ken P told me that Alice Cooper had announced on his radio show that he had interviewed Alex and Geddy. Well we now know when the interview will air. From the Nights with Alice Cooper website:

THURSDAY - 5/3/2007 - Alice Cooper is your professor of rock 'n' roll knowledge, and he WILL hit you on your knuckles with a ruler! But only if you ask nicely. Alice has trivia on the Doors, very rare rock for a Closet Classic, then- drum roll please!- it's Coop's interview with RUSH. Yes, Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson drop by to chat, so that's one you won't want to miss! Plus, it's the start of Coop's special autographed Vermont Teddy Bear contest at nightswithalicecooper.com! Don't miss Nights with Alice Cooper this evening for action-packed radio lunacy!

That should be an interesting interview. Thanks to Power Windows for the tip.

Back on April 18th I reported that Geddy and Alex would be appearing on Q107's Kim Mitchell show the day after the album release (Wednesday, May 2nd) live from the Hard Rock Cafe. They are also running a contest for you and a guest to be invited along on the interview! Contest details here. If you're not aware, Kim Mitchell is a founder of Canadian classic rock band Max Webster who has collaborated with Rush in the past. It was recently announced that Max Webster will be reuniting for a 30th Anniversary Concert and Live Radio Special happening Thursday, May 24th at The Docks. There will be several guest performances and I'm wondering if it's possible that any members of Rush will be surprise guests? Maybe they'll talk about it in the interview.

The Q107 Jeff Woods Snakes & Arrows world premier special aired last night on several radio stations across Canada. About a half hour of the show was dedicated to interview segments with the band while for the rest of the 90 minutes (minus commercials) they played all but 3 songs from Snakes & Arrows. The songs they did not play were Workin' Them Angels, Spindrift and Bravest Face. Most of the interview segments consisted of the band talking specifically about the songs being played; how they came about musically and lyrically. Jeff mentioned that a transcript would be available on the Legends of Classic Rock site at some point in the future but gave no specifics. I recorded the interview but it's very big and it'll take me a while to cut out the songs/commercials. If you haven't heard it yet, I suggest trying to catch one of the rebroadcasts on one of the stations listed here. Most stations have streaming available for free these days.

I did not get a chance to listen to the interview on Sirius Classic Rewind but from what I've heard it was not that great. The only new song they played was Far Cry. I will try and a get a hold of the interview portion of the special and post it at some point.

And tonight, the FMQB Inside Snakes & Arrows special will air on radio stations across the US. You can view a list of stations with air times here.
