Manic Street Preachers documentary No Manifesto to feature Rush

Thu, Aug 20, 2009@3:27PM | comments removed/disabled

The Manic Street Preachers are a critically-acclaimed alternative rock band from Wales who are the subject of a forthcoming documentary titled No Manifesto due to tentatively release sometime this fall. The band's bassist Nicky Wire is known to be a huge Rush fan. Just recently Wire wrote an 8-page feature on Rush album art which appeared in the June, 2009 issue of Classic Rock presents ... Prog. Back in late 2007 Nick interviewed Geddy and Alex for the December, 2007 issue of Classic Rock magazine after their Wembley show. Rock photographer Ross Halfin was on hand for this and took this great photo of Wire with Alex and Geddy where Wire proudly displays his Rush jean jacket. Director Elizabeth Marcus tells me that the documentary will contain video of this backstage meeting between Wire and the boys as displayed in this clip from the documentary's YouTube channel. The clip also has Nick showing off his collection of buttons and patches and declaring Geddy as the greatest bass player of all time. Here's the clip:

Thanks to RushFanForever for the heads up and director Elizabeth Marcus for the info.
