Tue, Jul 28, 2009@9:52AM | comments removed/disabled

UPDATE - 7/28@10:13AM: John of Cygnus-X1.net spoke with a representative of Main Drag Music and learned that Sotheby's Auction House will be handling the auction. Stay tuned to the Main Drag Music website for details concerning the timing of the auction.

Neil Peart's original Slingerland drum kit which he used from Fly By Night through 2112 is currently in the hands of Main Drag Music in Brooklyn, New York and will be put up for auction in the next few days. Fans are welcome to come into the store to check it out. The timing of this is perfect since Thursday, July 30th will mark the 35th anniversary of Neil originally purchasing this kit for Rush's first tour at Long and McQuade Music in Toronto back in 1974. I'll post details concerning the auction as soon as I have them. Thanks to Michael at NeilPeartDrumsticks.com for the heads up.
