[Rush Deny Concept Album Rumours]
In a recent interview with the UK's Classic Rock magazine Geddy Lee has put to rest rumors that Rush’s next release is going to be a concept album:
... “We haven’t even discussed our next work yet,” Lee told Classic Rock in response to the concept album speculation.
“Right now we’re all taking a well-needed break,” he added. “We’re pooped and we’re not spring chickens anymore, so we do need that break.”
Rush, the Canadian band whose line-up is completed by Alex Lifeson (guitar) and Neil Peart (drums), release the third volume in their ongoing compilation album series, Retrospective III, on March 2 (March 3 in the US).
Retrospective III spans the period 1989-2008 in Rush’s career.
Lee doesn’t want people to call Retrospective III a greatest hits album.
“We don’t really have hits,” he said. “It’s more ‘All The Songs That Were Not Hits’ by Rush, ha-ha!”
The full interview will be published in Classic Rock issue No.130, on sale March 4th. Thanks to Power Windows for the heads up.
