UPDATE - 3/15@4:40PM: On a related note, Jason Plumb and the Willing bass player Gord Smith has a side project called Creosote, and on their debut album they are including a cover of Rush's Mystic Rhythms (thanks RushFanForever). The album is titled Area Man and will release via Soccer Mom Records on March 27th. From the website:

Originally from Toronto's suburban sprawl, Smith has been in Regina most of his life. After losing his father at 12, his mother encouraged his interest in music by getting him his first drum set. Being a huge Rush fan early on contributed to his dedication to learning how to play...Pulling in his Canadian rock roots, Smith decided to cover a Rush song mostly because nobody else is ambitious enough to try. 'I picked a song that was in their late 80s keyboard funk, which was panned by fans. The songs are still there.' Rush’s original 'Mystic Rhythms' is a mid-tempo synthesizer and keyboard-driven song. Smith turned in into the guitar-driven rock song he thought it should have been. He got to gush to Rush's Alex Lifeson about breathing life into the song while recording Jason Plumb and the Willing's new album All Is More Than Both.

UPDATE - 3/14@11:54AM: The track is up on SoundCloud too (thanks Eric at Power Windows).

Back in September we learned via a blog post from producer Michael Phillip Wojewoda that Alex Lifeson had contributed some guitar tracks to Canadian singer-songwriter Jason Plumb for his solo project Jason Plumb and The Willing. The blog post features a behind-the-scenes recording session video from last May with Alex wailing away on a solo over a track. This track was just officially released via YouTube yesterday. It's titled LOSIN' and you can listen to it below or at this link. The complete album is titled All is More Than Both and releases on March 27th. It also features appearances from Ed Robertson and Steven Page of the Barenaked Ladies along with several other Canadian musicians. Thanks to LerxstGirl for the heads up.
