Reminder: Neil Peart on CBC's Strombo tonight

Mon, Mar 21, 2011@9:43PM | comments removed/disabled

UPDATE - 3/22@10:43AM: pt2112 over at the Rush Forum was at the taping and posted the following (thanks nobodys hero):

It was taped today, but it won't be actually on TV for another week or two. I was in the audience. It was absolutely incredible to see Neil up close about 10-15 feet away in an intimate setting.

He talked about touring, his new book and then dissected Moving Pictures track by track among other things. It was an unbelievable experience that I will never forget.

----- snip -----

UPDATE - 3/22@9:08AM: RushFanForever confirmed with Bruce Cockburn's management that both Neil Peart and Cockburn did tape their respective appearances on Strombo yesterday. They even chatted backstage he said. But apparently Strombo tapes multiple shows on any given day for air at a later date. There's no word exactly when the show with Neil will air, but he was definitely interviewed.

UPDATE - 3/21@11:50PM: It doesn't sound as if Neil's interview appeared on tonight's show, although there's plenty of evidence supporting that his interview was taped earlier today. I've received reports from people who attended the taping and an email was definitely sent out last week announcing that Neil Peart and Bruce Cockburn would be appearing tonight. Perhaps they pre-record some interviews for a later airdate? I'm thoroughly confused here so if anyone has any insight, please let us know. The featured guest on tonight was Jay Baruchel.

As I'd reported over the weekend, Neil Peart will appear on the CBC's Strombo (formerly The Hour with George Stroumboulopoulos) tonight. The show has already been taped and will air later tonight at 11:05PM EST. Reader ghostrider_2112 attended the taping and confirms that Neil appeared on the show, and the Edmonton Journal also is listing Neil as a guest. For those of you without access to the CBC, the episode will be posted to the show's website soon after it airs and excerpts may be posted to their YouTube channel at some point this evening. Although both Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson have been guests on the show multiple times, this is Neil Peart's first appearance. Neil was also recently interviewed by DJ Jim Ladd for close to 2 hours to discuss the Moving Pictures 5.1 remix. That interview will air in 2 or 3 weeks on Ladd's KLOS radio show which airs Sunday through Thursday.
