Neil Peart Time Machine Tour drum kit cymbals sneak peek

Wed, Jun 23, 2010@4:07PM | comments removed/disabled

UPDATE - 6/24@5:05PM: Here's yet another photo of the cymbals (thanks rosmakloma).

UPDATE - 6/23@4:37PM: There's also this cryptic video (possible *SPOILER*) that was posted to YouTube a couple of days ago. The file name is rushcarvanvidstagetoreh3.mp4 and the caption reads only Scr. test Rush LA TMT Caravan. So it looks to be a screen test for the stage video for Caravan from production rehearsals. Some of the images match up with those posted by John Arrowsmith so this could certainly be legit.

A photo which apparently shows the cymbals from Neil Peart's new Time Machine Tour drum kit was posted to the Sabian Cymbals Facebook page earlier this afternoon. Although there was no comment posted with the image, the symbols on the cymbals match the ones shown on the cover art for the Caravan single so these are no doubt a sneak peek of Neil's new kit. You can check out the photo at this link (thanks Alan S) or by clicking the above thumbnail.

In other tour-related news, Neil Peart drum tech Lorne Wheaton updated the status on his MySpace page on Monday (thanks rushrulez) with the following message:

1 more rehearsal day....then to Albuquerque NM for a June 29th tour start.
Mood: very happy

So according to this, Rush is done with production rehearsals in Los Angeles and ready to move on to Albuquerque. I'm assuming the band will be hanging around in Los Angeles until at least this Friday when they will be receiving their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. From my understanding of how these things work, they'll likely be doing a full production rehearsal at the venue in Albuquerque the night before the show.

Speaking of production rehearsals and sneak peeks, Rush tour photographer and pyrotechnician John Arrowsmith now has 4 pages of production rehearsal teaser images posted to his website. If you haven't seen them yet you can check them out at this link (possible *SPOILERS*). Only 6 more days until opening night!
