New Vertical Horizon album featuring Neil Peart due out this summer

Fri, Apr 17, 2009@10:35AM | comments removed/disabled

Almost three years ago now, Neil Peart let us all know about a side project he was working on involving his friend Matt Scannell and Matt's band Vertical Horizon in one of his News updates on his website. Neil and Matt had become friends when Neil moved to Los Angeles as he describes in his two most recent books Roadshow and Travelling Music. Neil contributed the lyrics to a Vertical Horizon song titled Even Now and also played drums on three tracks for the band's next album as Matt describes in this interview from back in 2007. That album was put on hold for a long time for various reasons but will finally see the light of day. It's titled Burning The Days and will be released sometime this summer although there's no hard date set as of yet. It's not known exactly what songs Neil Peart plays drums on, but you can view a tracklisting at this link. One track titled All Is Said And Done can be heard on the band's MySpace page, and the track Save Me From Myself is featured on Alternative Addiction's First Listen playlist at this link.
