UPDATE - 1/21@12:17PM: From what I can gather, the AMEX presale password should be either AMEX or the 10-digit customer service 800 number on the back of your card (don't include the leading 1). Certain pre-sales may also just be for AMEX Gold Card members. You'll need to check with AMEX/Ticketmaster for any details beyond that.
UPDATE - 1/20@6:46PM: The Patriots just beat the Chargers 21-12 for the AFC championship and a trip to the Super Bowl. :) Thanks to jprager87 for the heads up.
UPDATE - 1/20@5:30PM: Had the Vegas date wrong - should be May 10th. Fixed now.
It's been an extremely exciting past few days in Rush-land. The 2008 tour dates are out and details regarding the new Snakes & Arrows Live CD should be revealed tomorrow. My guess is there'll be a pre-order promotion via MusicToday similar to what they did with Snakes & Arrows on the 2007 leg. We may also get some news regarding the rumored live Workin' Them Angels single. Pre-sales for select shows begin next week with regular ticket sales starting next Saturday. Here's the ticket pre-sale/on-sale picture for the upcoming week:

There were a few minor Rush news items which were overshadowed by the tour news over the last week so I thought I'd get those covered here. But first I'll address that little tour box you see at the top of this page.
I've spent a good part of the weekend loading up all the 2008 tour dates into the tour section. If you weren't around for the 2007 leg you may be unfamiliar with the tour section and how it works. With each date I list the pre-sale information where appropriate, the ticket sale information and then a few links to tourdate-specific comment threads. This information is all dynamic; which means that once the pre-sale ends for a given date, the pre-sale info goes away - stuff like that. So all the information is up-to-date. After the show is over, there'll also be links to post your reviews and photos if you have them. I've also turned the home page tour feature back on. This feature basically allows you to select one particular tour date from the drop down and just see info for that date. It will default to the next upcoming date - which up until April 11th will be the Puerto Rico date. But you can also choose to set a date as your default. Just click the set as tourdate default link when viewing a particular date. Then each time you come back to the site that default date will appear. If you don't like having the tour date stuff cluttering up the home page you also have the option of turning it off. Just click the Turn special Rush Tour section off link (just under the Blogospheres heading). If you notice any errors with my information (wrong ticket link, wrong presale info, etc.) please let me know. I may be adding some new features in the near future too if time allows.
Now that we know the tour itinerary (at least for North America) I thought I'd update the poll question and ask folks how many shows they plan on attending. Take the poll and let us know.
In the last poll I asked you what your favorite live Rush album is. Exit... Stage Left barely edged out Rush in Rio 29% to 28% for the win. I guess I'll have to ask this question again in a few months now that we'll soon have yet another live album to throw into the mix. :)
I wanted to take a second to thank everybody who generously donated to the site in the past week. It is greatly appreciated. If you want to help out too you can donate via PayPal through this link (or use the button to the right). Any donation of $3 or more and you'll receive a RUSH IS A BAND bumper sticker as a thank you gift.
Neil Peart graces the cover of the most recent edition of the American Musical Supply catalog. Thanks to reader Anthony H for the heads up and cover scan.
Reader showdonttell25 let me know that Working Man will be made available for download for the Rock Band video game the week of January 29th. Harmonix just recently made Limelight available for download, and Tom Sawyer is one of the featured tracks that comes included with the game.
Last week we learned that Gibson would showcase the Alex Lifeson signature ES-355 guitar at the Winter NAMM show over the weekend. Reader Daren found this this great pic of the guitar online.
Reader pblaster let me know that in celebration of the announcement of Rush's April 19th show in New Orleans, WKBU-FM has announced a Canadian Invasion Weekend where they'll be playing lots of Rush along with other Canadian artists.
Way back on the Power Windows tour Neil Peart did a drum seminar in Ft. Wayne Indiana. Reader karissas1fan recently obtained some rare pictures from this seminar and I've shared them here.
Here's an interesting article which describes how conductor Jonathon Stockhammer drew inspiration from Rush in developing ideas for his classical concert. Thanks to Al for the heads up.
