New Geddy Lee Sporting News interview

Fri, Apr 13, 2007@3:58PM | comments removed/disabled

As I mentioned in my last post, Matt Crossman of the Sporting News recently interviewed Geddy Lee and now has the full interview transcribed on his blog here. He talks baseball and Rush with Geddy. Matt is a self-described unapologetic Rush nerd as well as a sports writer so it's a very cool interview. He asks extremely insightful and important questions like this one:

SN: I was watching SportsCenter one day about 10 or 12 years ago, and Randy Johnson was still with Seattle. Suddenly Dan Patrick says, "after the game, Randy Johnson met with Rush. Geddy, I've always loved the album '2112.'" There's that, and repeated references to you guys on Mystery Science Theater 3000. Which is a more lofty pop culture accomplishment, getting on SportsCenter or getting on MST3K?

Lee: MST3K, for sure. No offense to Dan Patrick. I'm a big fan of the sports shows. But MST3K, I mean, that's forever. I was a huge MST3K fan, by the way. I still have a bunch of them on tape.

Awesome. :)
