Next round of presales begin tomorrow!

Mon, Apr 9, 2007@12:39PM | comments removed/disabled

UPDATE - 4/9@10:44PM: The MusicToday site has been updated and the listed dates are now in sync with what is listed at Rush.com. So all is good. Good luck with getting tickets!

UPDATE - 4/9@3:21PM: IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR LA AND IRVINE SHOWS! Both the Hollywood Bowl show in LA and the Irvine show at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater are currently on presale for AMEX card holders! I totally dropped the ball on this one and apologize for it. If this works like other Ticketmaster presales, it should go until 6PM PST. Again, this is only for AMEX card holders. AMEX Gold card members apparently get preferred seating too.

Round 2 of the Rush advance ticket presale conducted through Musictoday will start tomorrow at 10AM local venue time. Dates included in this presale are:

Jul. 04 - Darien Lake, NY @ Six Flags
Jul. 23 - Los Angeles, CA @ Hollywood Bowl *
Jul. 25 - Irvine, CA @ Verizon Wireless Amphitheater
Jul. 28 - Las Vegas, NV @ MGM Grand Garden Arena *
Jul. 30 - San Diego, CA @ Coors Amphitheatre *
Aug. 23 - Kansas City, MO @ Verizon Wireless Amphitheater
Aug. 24 - St. Louis, MO @ Verizon Wireless Amphitheater
Aug. 26 - Noblesville, IN @ Verizon Wireless Music Center
Aug. 28 - Detroit, MI @ DTE Energy Music Theater
Sep. 01 - Cincinnati, OH @ Riverbend Music Center
Sep. 02 - Columbus, OH @ Germain Amphitheater
Sep. 06 - Milwaukee, WI @ Marcus Amphitheater *
Sep. 08 - Chicago, IL @ First Midwest Bank Amphitheater *
Sep. 09 - St. Paul, MN @ Xcel Energy Center

* Not yet listed at MusicToday

Dates with an asterisk are not yet listed at the MusicToday site for some reason but are listed at Rush.com. I'm trying to determine the reason for the discrepancy. My guess is that the MusicToday site just hasn't been updated yet, but I'll let you know as I find out more.

I thought I would now go over the process for registering for the presale as I had laid out in this post from the 1st round of presales back on March 27th. You may also want to check out the comments from that post to read about different fans' experience with the presale.

I'll say this right off the bat since there seems to be some confusion about this; no password is necessary for the MusicToday presale tomorrow. Passwords are only necessary for some of the Ticketmaster presales that will take place on Friday. I'll have more details about the Ticketmaster presales later this week.

The first step is to register for the MusicToday presale if you haven't already. To do this visit the Rush Presale Website, enter your email address in the box where it says Enter Email Address and click Sign me up. You will then receive an email from Tix@musictoday.com entitled Rush Fan Community Email Validation. After opening this email and visiting the validation link included within you will be taken back to the Rush Presale Website. At this point the registration for presale tickets is complete (although you will have to enter your email address again during a later step in the process to purchase tickets). The complete itinerary of dates with presale ticket times can be found here.

Then you need to be ready at 10AM (local venue time) sharp to get your tickets. Chances are the MusicToday sight will be bogged down a bit so patience is needed. You will see the list of dates available for presale with a buy tix link for each. Choose your date/venue. You'll then be asked to choose the ticket level you want. After clicking continue you will either be given a message that no tickets are available at this level or you will be presented with some tickets to purchase. If you get the no tix available message or the seats displayed aren't to your liking, simply try again. You may have to try several times. Again, read the comments in this post to see how things went for different fans the first time around.

MusicToday is also running a Rush Presale and Preorder Contest. Here are the details.

All fans who purchase RUSH pre-sale TICKETS in addition to pre-ordering the CD OR pre-ordering the CD and tshirt combo will be entered into the Rush Snakes & Arrows Contest!!!

5 Grand Prize winners will receive a hard cover tour book comprising every Rush tour program from 1977-2004. The book will be personally autographed to the winners by the band. In addition, each of these 5 winners will receive a Meet-and-Greet opportunity for the winner and one guest in the city where tickets were purchased.

First prize winners will receive a Meet-and-Greet opportunity for the winner and one guest in the city where tickets were purchased. Every city will have one meet and greet winner!

And as a reminder, Musictoday is also running a promotion for Rush is a Band readers. To sign-up for the promotion (if you haven't already) simply send an email containing your Age, Full Name and Address to riabbiggestfanzz@aol.com. You can sign up anytime from now through April 30th. Three winners will be chosen and each winner will receive a prize pack containing a Limited-Edition Rush T Shirt (ONLY available for purchase through the Musictoday Rush Online Advance Ticket Presale) and a copy of Snakes & Arrows on CD.
