[The Spirit of Rand]

Jewrock.org describes itself as "a non-profit group devoted to illuminating the intersection of rock and roll and Jewish culture". One of the featured essays on the site currently is entitled The Spirit of Rand and talks about the influence of Ayn Rand's writing on Rush's lyrics and Geddy Lee in particular, focusing on Geddy's Jewish heritage. It doesn't really contain any "new" information but it does a decent job of compiling quotes from different sources into a cohesive article describing how Geddy Lee's vocal stylings and Neil Peart's lyrics coalesced to brand Rush as uniquely connected to Ayn Rand and objectivist theory (Rush is the only rock group ever cited in the Journal of Ayn Rand Studies). It contains a few forgivable errors here and there but overall it's an interesting read. Thanks to rushisaband.com reader Mike for bringing this to my attention.
