Counterparts message board down for a few days

Tue, May 9, 2006@1:19PM | comments removed/disabled

For any of you who are members of the Counterparts Rush message board (like me) and were wondering why the site has been down the last few days, here's your answer from the site administrator. This was posted on The Rush Forum last night:

For those who are wondering when CP will be back up, the answer is anytime now until Thursday.

The latest from my server company is:

Afternoon update

Hopefully many of you have been seeing your servers reappear. The migration team is furiously installing hard drives containing your data into their respective servers, testing them, and plugging them into the network.

My support team has been putting unresolved migration issues into a new queue, Migration Issues, in the eSupport system. We are not closing them, but we have only recently moved from the triage phase (weeding out duplicates, checking for servers, etc.) to actually being able to track down the progress of the servers that aren't yet up.

A request is pending to reroute all the remaining subnets from California to New Jersey, as there aren't any Managed.com servers in California anymore. I'm told this will happen "soon." I'm trying to get it to happen "immediately."

I'd like to tell you that machines are being brought online a subnet at a time, but in reality the migration team is installing drives in something approaching a random order. So if an IP near yours goes live, it's not a good indicator at this time that yours is soon to follow.

I'd like to report that everybody will be up in the next twenty minutes, but I can't lie. I take my responsibility as an advocate for my customers very seriously. Realistically, I can assure you that servers are being brought online continuously, but it will be Thursday before each and every system is online.

So there you have it.
