UPDATE - 6/9@3:05PM: Here's a short B+ review of the film from Entertainment Weekly.

A trio of new interviews with Alex Lifeson and Geddy Lee were published yesterday by various news publications, all of which centered on the Rush documentary Rush Beyond the Lighted Stage. There's not much in the way of new information in any of the interviews but they are interesting reads nonetheless. The first comes from Spinner magazine for an article titled Rush Doc Gets 'Beyond the Lighted Stage' and Closer to Their Heart (thanks RushFanForever). The article talks about the documentary and contains a few interview snippets with Geddy Lee along with filmmakers Sam Dunn and Scott McFadyen. Metro News Canada published a short article yesterday titled Rush documentary captures 40 years of 'one foot in front of the other' which contains one interview snippet each from Geddy and Alex. The longest of the three articles comes from EyeWeekly.com. In this interview EyeWeekly's Stuart Berman sat down with both Geddy and Alex and asked them a few questions about the documentary including a question about the video for Subdivisions, where Berman inquires as to whether it was the band's first attempt at a narrative video:

... Lee: That’s true. It was kind of a homemade project, really, we did it with our friend Norm Stangl, who went on to make so many different productions for the tour. His forte was really special effects, so he just got some of the people he worked with together and jammed a little script together, as it were — I mean, the song is a script, it kind of says it all; they just basically brought the song to life.

Lifeson: We were actually in a rehearsal hall at Universal up on Steeles, and we just filmed it on one of our rehearsal days.

Lee: Yes, we actually shot it in the suburbs! ...
