New Orleans Rush show may be rescheduled

[Hornets may bump Rush]

UPDATE - 4/14@4:55PM: I meant to make mention of the great sales figures for New Orleans; over 10,000 tickets sold thus far. This is one of the dates that's actually doing quite well despite the tour selling poorly overall. So far I'm hearing that Red Rocks, Montreal and Los Angeles (show #1) have sold out, but there are still several dates that are struggling to top the 5000 mark (last night's show is one example).

I thought this bit of news was important enough to garner a post of its own. The Rush show scheduled for this Saturday, April 19th may need to be rescheduled due to a potential Hornets basketball playoff game. From the New Orleans Times-Picayune:

... "We'll find out at midnight Wednesday, when the regular NBA season ends," said arena spokesman Bill Curl. "We'll make an announcement Thursday morning."

When concert promoter Live Nation booked Rush at the New Orleans Arena, they were aware of this potential April 19 conflict, Curl said. "The first option on that date was always a playoff game for the Hornets," Curl said. "The NBA is aware of our situation, but they have first call on the date if they want it. Rush would have to move."

More than 10,000 tickets have been sold for the Rush show, Curl said. He was unsure when the concert might be rescheduled if it moves. The band is slated to perform in Houston on Sunday, April 20, then in Austin on Wednesday, April 23.

This really sucks for folks who made plans to travel into New Orleans for the weekend to see the show. Because the most logical reschedule date would place the show on either Monday or Tuesday of the following week. I guess we'll know for sure by Thursday morning. Thanks to LVS_R for the heads up.
