Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson recently stopped by Rolling Stone headquarters in New York to talk about the upcoming R40 Live concert video which releases on Friday, and to answer some reader-submitted questions for a 5-minute video interview. The pair discuss a number of subjects including their favorite songs to play live, their favorite superheroes, favorite guitar solos (from other bands), their most embarrassing onstage moments, and whether Rush will ever tour again. Here's what Geddy had to say about future touring:
That's a question that I'd like to know myself. I can't answer the question really because I have no idea. But it doesn't look good at this point. Not all of us agree on whether they want to tour again. It's difficult because we all have a sort of different idea about touring. At this moment we're all not on the same page.
Although further touring from Rush may sound unlikely, they haven't closed the door on recording new music together. Here's Geddy's take on that:
We don't have any immediate plans for that. Right now we're on holiday. I hope once the new year rolls around and the juices get flowing and we get hungry again we can talk about that. [The band is not done] in my mind. But I can't speak for everyone.
