UPDATE - 7/18@9:03AM: Here's a review and photo gallery from the Vancouver Sun, a review from The Georgia Straight, and photo gallery from The Province.

UPDATE - 7/18@12:54AM: 2 songs into the second set and it looks like we have a new G setlist - a variation of C. Setlist so far here.

UPDATE - 7/18@12:08AM: Special song and special guest confirmed! Setlist so far here.

UPDATE - 7/17@11:47PM: 5 songs in and it looks like we'll be getting setlist F (variation of set A) or possibly a new G setlist, which would just be a variation of C with the extra song swapped in. Setlist so far here.

UPDATE - 7/17@11:26PM: They are 2 songs into the first set now, and it looks like the Vancouver crowd will be seeing that special guest later on in the set. Now the question is whether it will be set D, E, F ... or G. We should have a better idea at about the 5th song ...

UPDATE - 7/17@10:07PM: The show should get going in about an hour. Have fun Vancouver!

Rush takes the R40 Live tour to the Rogers Arena in Vancouver tonight for the last of the 5 Canadian dates on the tour. After tonight they'll head to the US Pacific Northwest, back down through the American Southwest and then finish things up with a couple of shows in SoCal. The band played their standard B setlist Wednesday night in Calgary, so normally we would expect setlist C for the Vancouver fans. However, rumor has it that the band will once again welcome the same special guest they had in Toronto onto the stage tonight to play that special song. In that case, we are expecting to see one of the D-E-F (or G!?) sets, with setlist F being the most likely; E is just a B variation and they played B at the last show, and D was probably just a one-off they did for the Toronto filming in order to get all the B/C songs on film. A new G set (variation of C) would also be a good possibility. Rob Feller at VanCityBuzz wrote an article previewing the show, complete with a "photo" of what looks like the setlist (setlist F to be precise) although I can't verify the authenticity (looks bogus, but it's a good guess either way). We will have a better idea of how things will play out after the first few songs of tonight's first set. For more discussion on the potential setlist along with a preview of the show, check out the pre-show SPOILER review below the fold. Tom Harrison of The Province wrote a great preview article a couple of days ago titled 40 years on, Rush has reason to keep going. Neil Peart's Commemorative Hockey Drum Kit will also be on display tonight just as it has been at all the other Canadian dates on the tour. Fans will have the opportunity to sit behind the kit with a $10 donation to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. The Rogers Arena is also offering a Rush-inspired menu especially for tonight's show as seen here. Tonight's show has an 8PM start time listed, so Rush will hit the stage around 8:15-ish (PST, 11:15PM EST). For everyone going to the show, have fun, stay safe and be sure to share your reports, reviews, photos and video with us. RUUSSSHHHH!!!!!

*** SPOILER update *** Here's some video of Rush playing Losing It with Ben Mink:

*** pre-show SPOILER review *** As I'd mentioned above, Rush played setlist B in Calgary, so we would normally expect to see setlist C for tonight's show. However, rumor has it that the band will once again welcome Vancouver resident Ben Mink onto the stage tonight to play the electric violin on Losing It. In that case, we are expecting to see one of the D-E-F sets, with setlist F (or a new G, variant of C) being the most likely; E is just a B variation and they played B at the last show, and D was probably just a one-off they did for the Toronto filming in order to get all the B/C songs on film. Rob Feller at VanCityBuzz wrote an article previewing the show, complete with a photo of what looks like the setlist (setlist F to be precise) although I can't verify the authenticity. It looks like a bogus photo he put together, but F is a good guess regardless. We will have a better idea of how things will play out after the opening song of set 1. If the 2nd song is Headlong Flight rather than Clockwork Angels or The Wreckers, then that means we should get Losing It.
