In celebrations of former MLB pitcher Randy Johnson's upcoming induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame on July 26th, MLB Network will be airing a special documentary on Johnson's career later today as part of its MLB Network Presents series. Johnson's good friend Geddy Lee along with several former teammates, players and coaches are interviewed for the program:
... The hour-long show is narrated by Metallica lead singer and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer James Hetfield and includes interviews with Hall of Famers Pedro Martinez and Nolan Ryan, Arizona Diamondbacks manager Bob Brenly, former Dbacks teammates Luis Gonzalez, Mark Grace and Curt Schilling, and Rush lead singer and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Geddy Lee. The program aims to shed light both on Johnson's playing career and his life after baseball, with his induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame now less than two weeks away, on July 26. ...
Back in May both Johnson and Geddy Lee were featured in an MLB interview where they discuss their 20-year friendship and mutual admiration. Johnson has been photographing several of Rush's tour stops and the interview was conducted before the band's show in Austin. You can watch the interview online here. It's likely that the Geddy Lee interview segments appearing in the documentary were taken from this earlier MLB interview. You can watch MLB Network Presents: Randy Johnson, The Big Picture today on the MLB Network at 7PM EST and again at midnight EST.
