Neil Peart will continue his interview circuit promoting his latest book Far and Near: On Days Like These this Sunday evening with an appearance on CBC Radio 2's The Strombo Show with George Stroumboulopoulos. The interview has already been recorded and a 2-minute preview video was posted to The Strombo Show YouTube channel earlier this evening which you can check out below or at this location. The interview will air Sunday night on CBC Radio 2, followed by the full-episode and complete, unedited interview online Monday morning. Here's a partial transcript from the preview video where Neil talks about how Rush does not have any unreleased songs:

... we've never given up on a song, we do not have a single unreleased song in the world. ... because if we went far enough and if we believed in it, we kept working on it. A lot of stuff got thrown away before it got that far or siphoned into other songs. I call my lyrical file the "scrap pot" and I'll go when I'm looking for bits and pieces and musically, we're the same - if things not happening, we'll throw it away. There's one song on 'Clockwork Angels' that was 'Wish Them Well' - three times we wrote that song and threw it away and it was the third version, finally, that pleased us all. All the way along, it took that. ...

Neil Peart's Far and Near released last month and you can order a copy at this location. The book is a follow-up to Peart's 2011 book Far and Away: A Prize Every Time and is another collection of his NeilPeart.net blog posts since that last book was released.
