UPDATE - 6/14@6:01PM: Here are some new radio interviews with Geddy and Alex where they discuss their honorary degrees (thanks RushFanForever).
UPDATE - 6/13@5:27PM: Here's a short interview with Geddy from the North Bay Nugget (thanks RushFanForever):
... [It is] very cool, I like it a lot," says Lee. "I can razz my son about it, who is a real doctor. He did it the hard way." ... "I'm very disappointed we weren't able to come," says Lee. "I was really looking forward to it. We asked 'why can't you drop us off at Sudbury?', but the pilot said we couldn't. By the time we got back it was too late for us to drive up." Lee also said was most disappointed about not being able to mingle with the students. ...

UPDATE - 6/13@9:09AM: Alex Lifeson was interviewed on the CBC Radio's Points North program yesterday to talk about the honor. He explains how their plane was forced to turn around and how they ended up taping the videos. Apparently they had originally planned to accept the award via video, but were unable due to technical difficulties. So they instead just taped the videos and posted them online. You can listen to the 8-minute interview online at this location (thanks RushFanForever).
UPDATE - 6/12@6:53PM: Both Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson have posted video acceptance speeches online (Geddy, Alex).

We learned last week that Nipissing University in North Bay, Ontario would be awarding Honorary Doctorate of Music degrees to all three members of Rush as the university celebrates the 2014 graduating class this week. According to the University's website, the ceremony will take place today at 2PM EST and a live video stream is available online here. It's still not known whether any members of the band will be in attendance to receive the award. Thanks to John at Cygnus-X1.net for the heads up.
